Description
The J-PARC E73 experiment aims to measure the hypertriton lifetime using the He3(K-, π0)H3Λ reaction, which uniquely enables the population of the hypertriton ground state due to spin non-flip dynamics. As a demonstration of this method’s precision, we have successfully measured the H4Λ lifetime, with results published in Physics Letters B 845 (2023) 138128. We plan to complete the physics data collection by early 2025. In this talk, I will present an overview of the scientific motivation, the experimental techniques employed, and an update on the current progress of the experiment.
